Their Work

SPCA Namibia is the largest animal welfare organization in the country. They rescue and assist neglected, abandoned, and abused animals, primarily focusing on domestic pets and caring for wild and large domestic animals through dedicated networks.

Their Windhoek shelter can serve up to 400 animals at a time, and over 5,500 animals are rescued and cared for annually across Namibia. They provide a safe haven, medical care, and behavioral rehabilitation, ensuring all animals receive necessary vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, and sterilization.

Their team, including two full-time certified animal inspectors, tirelessly responds to reports of abandoned or abused animals, conducts pre-adoption home inspections, and transports animals to veterinary clinics. In partnership with the University of Namibia School of Veterinary Medicine, they offer practical experience to veterinary students and select services to our animals free of charge.

They are passionate about finding loving homes for all pets in our care and fostering compassion and respect for animals throughout Namibia.

SPCA International is proud to have SPCA Namibia as a shelter partner and provide them with the necessary support to expand their spay and neuter efforts in the country, improving the lives of animals and the community.
