Daily Hugz is the largest animal sanctuary in the West Bank, offering shelter to homeless and abused animals and providing a safe play environment for children in Palestine. Their mission is to create and promote a space where all life matters by serving the most underprivileged members of society and allowing them to interact with nature and rescued animals.
When the conflict between Israel and Hamas erupted, the animals at Daily Hugz were in immediate danger. With roadblocks and new restrictions, the team at Daily Hugz struggled to secure the necessary food and medical care for the animals. Faced with these challenges, the sanctuary made the heartbreaking decision to close its doors, prioritizing the safety of the 65 dogs in their care.
Without hesitation, SPCA International stepped in to assist with this critical mission. After weeks of meticulous planning, our team successfully transported the 65 dogs from Palestine to the United States. Once the dogs had a chance to decompress, they traveled across the country to partner shelters, foster homes, and, eventually, forever homes.
We are honored to have supported Daily Hugz in this vital rescue mission. Thanks to their dedication, these animals have a second chance at a happy, healthy life.
